Eva Fernández

[Bio]

Born in Barcelona, Eva Fernández is a saxophonist, singer and composer who first rose to prominence with the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. At just 18 years old, she was the featured artist in the second volume of the acclaimed “Joan Chamorro presenta” series. Since then, she has built her own musical universe: rooted in jazz as her first language and expanding into song and bolero, always defined by unmistakable sensitivity, intimacy and delicacy.

She is regarded as one of the most promising young voices on today’s jazz scene. Her versatility — playing soprano, alto and baritone saxophones, as well as clarinet — allows her to explore a wide range of registers and to bring unique, personal nuances to her performances.

Her career has reached international stages. With the album “Yo pregunto” she has performed in the UK, France, Germany, South Korea and Argentina, establishing her reputation worldwide. Her awards include the Núvol Prize for Best Album of the Year (2018) and the Alfredo Impullitti Young Talent Award in Italy (2023).

In recent years, she has toured globally as a member of the band of Portuguese singer-songwriter Salvador Sobral, winner of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest with “Amar pelos dois”. That milestone placed Sobral among the most prestigious voices on the international music scene, further enhancing Fernández’s own visibility and artistic prestige.
