Alba Careta
Alba Careta is a trumpeter, singer and composer, and one of the most promising voices in the new wave of European jazz. Her music is defined by an organic, heartfelt and energetic sound, blending original compositions with highly personal interpretations of Mediterranean folk songs, bringing her culture and language to international stages.
After releasing Orígens (2018), Alades (Segell Microscopi, 2020) and Teia (Segell Microscopi, 2023), Panical arrives in January 2026—a fourth album that transforms cultural heritage into a driving force and confirms Alba as one of the most outstanding jazz performers and composers in the national scene, and already a reference in European jazz. In this new phase, Alba delves into the earth as a source of inspiration, guided by the strength of her roots and by the female figures that set the pulse of this work. Accompanied by leading musicians from the Catalan jazz scene, Alba Careta has toured countries such as France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and the island of La Réunion, among many others.
In recent years, she has also received several awards, including the Young Jazz Talent Award from the Associació de Jazz i Música Moderna (AMJM), the Premi Alícia for Emerging Talent from the Catalan Music Academy, the ARC Award for Best Jazz Tour, and the Enderrock Award for Best Breakthrough Jazz Album according to critics.
